The best thing about newborn photos at home is how they become family photos. 🙂 Like here. Of course, we took a ton of photos of Baby J looking cute and tiny, and so, so new. And we also took a bunch of him being held close by mom, dad, and big sister, Grace.
It’s not just the cute-factor, but the obvious affection and love this whole family shares. I see it in their easy interactions, in the super-relaxed way they just opened up their home to me, and the comfortable way they just were themselves. I especially loved Grace’s sweet and fun personality; she shared her favorite toys, and at the end of the session, she took me outside to see her favorite tree (which she very creatively turned into a pretty cool play house for herself).
So yes- the best thing about in-home newborn sessions is getting to know the family, and creating images for them, that (I hope) help them see what’s special and wonderful about their family’s ordinary days.
Baby James from Amy Brownridge on Vimeo.
